OUR PASTOR



Rev. Dr.  Matthew Coleman was born December 13, 1973 in Garden City, Michigan.  He was saved on September 11, 1983 and later baptized at the First Missionary Church in Westland, MI.  He was called to ministry at the age of 24. In 1995, he married the love of his life, Danielle Stepp. God has blessed them with four children: Katherine (20), Madeleine (18), Elizabeth (12) and Lucas (6). In 1999, he began serving as a full-time Assistant Pastor. He has also served as Pastor for nine years in rural Michigan.  In 1994, he graduated from Henry Ford Community College with a degree in Speech Communication. He later studied Church Administration and Music  at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Religion from Liberty University.  In 2005, he completed his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministries. And in April 2015, he received his Doctorate of Ministry.   The Coleman family answered the call to serve the community of Clay Center, KS in 2010.


Matthew and Danielle can often be found enjoying a walk around Clay Center. They are also active in the community. Danielle received her HIT Certification from Baker College in Jackson, MI. She is incredibly dedicated to her family and serves officially and unofficially throughout the Church. Katherine is attending Tabor College in Hesston, Kansas. Madeleine enjoys playing the Alto Sax, the Ukulele, and is learning to play the Violin. Elizabeth is involved in dance and is learning to play the flute.  And Lucas like to play and play and play! The Coleman family also includes Shelby (their cat) and Molly - the Cairn Terrier, and Mollie - the Pug...
